Sunny and warm enough for tee shirt and shorts for our off-trail hike, despite a chilly wind at the beginning. We took a longer route through the backcountry, and the scramble up to the cliffs was challenging.

But the incredible landscape filled us with great joy, punctuated by a few claret cup cacti just beginning to bloom.
