A few photographs from yesterday’s kayaking trip on the Rio Grande. There are huge sandbars and mudflats, so in places we were barely able to paddle upstream against the current.
But our perseverance paid off big time, with marvelous scenery and an epiphanous lunch stop at Medio Canyon.
Sightings included two green herons, a snowy egret, muskrat, and the smallest young beaver I have ever seen. And to top it off, a wild mustang appeared near the lakeshore on our way back, and then galloped off into the wilderness. Glorious!!!
