Despite heavy morning frost and a chilly wind, I donned long pants and thermal top and hit the trail a bit after 10:30. The deep blue sky of northern New Mexico is a religious experience in itself, and makes for great photographs of rocks and trees against it.
A surprise was an unidentified creature that scurried across the trail, and then stopped so I could get a good look and photo! Seems like a kind of lizard, but not one I have seen before.
Despite an abiding sadness since the passing of Diana’s dad last Friday, the deep connections with nature were uplifting and inspiring, reflecting his life.
