Despite threatening clouds and strong chilly winds, we set off mid-morning for an off-trail hike in the Nature Preserve. We took a different route up from the plateau to below the cliffs. It was quite steep, but the rock formations, trees , and vistas along the way were amazing.

The soaring rock cliffs are always awe-inspiring, and there were lots of lichens to marvel at. Another day in paradise!
