Although somewhat icy cold at the beginning of our off-trail adventure, things warmed up quickly. Much of it was due to bright sunlight and the strenuous ascents and tricky footing on our way up to and traversing the rock cliffs. By lunchtime we were wearing tee shirts!
The back country of the Nature Preserve is always amazing, with jaw-dropping scenery around every bend. It never gets old or tiring, and photographic opportunities abound.
