Another Blustery Day

Chilly winds with gusts to 55 mph accompanied our off trail adventure. We took a different route, one that we had not yet followed this year. The rock formations, lichens, trees, abundant cacti, and other flora were beginning to show spring energies, with some buds and a few flowers.

The scramble up to the rock cliffs was strenuous but rewarding, as was the stillness and solitude. With so much dirt being blown about by the winds, the mountains to the south were barely visible, and so we took a shorter lunch break than usual before descending to the parking area.
