Cinco de Mayo

A warm and sunny day for our off-trail excursion. We took a new route through the backcountry replete with ancient junipers, large piñons, leaves emerging on mountain mahogany and scrub oak, soaring rock cliffs, colorful lichens, 150-mile vistas, hummingbirds, and an abundance of cactus flowers.

The stillness, solitude, deep connections with nature and spirit, and the beauty of the Earth filled us with gratitude and delight.
