Early July

A strenuous and exhausting backcountry adventure, exploring new territory, with lots of scrambling and some rock climbing in hot temperatures. But as always, the wonders of Nature were uplifting and inspiring.

We even saw a four-foot bullsnake, which scurried away to hide under a rock. And there were still some opuntia and cholla blossoms to brighten the day.

The ancient trees, soaring cliffs, stillness, solitude, and mountain vistas were deeply moving and fulfilling.
