Early March

A warm and sunny tee-shirt day for our off-trail adventure. We headed directly for the cliffs to avoid the snow, ice, and mud of a week ago, and were mostly successful.

It is a much more strenuous route than going along the plateaus first, but instantly rewarding with soaring rock formations, ancient trees, shrubs, and vistas.
Since the vast majority of hikers stick to the trails, we get to experience incredible stillness and solitude, with deep connections to Nature, Earth, and Spirit.
