We went on another amazing hike today in the Nature Preserve.
There are many varieties of juniper, along with piñon and ponderosa pines. Some of the trees are huge!
Many grow out of the rocky landscape, clinging to life in only bits of soil.
The rocks in this area are very different from the ones on other trails, especially the banded white-and-red ones.
And there were many wildflowers, including Indian paintbrush and penstemons.
We are so very fortunate to have such a place 15 minutes from our home. One could not ask for a more deeply meaningful experience.
