We returned to the bridge on Saturday, October 3, two weeks after our first visit, this time in late afternoon.
The light was much better, and so these photographs are an improvement in terms of clarity, colors, and perspective.
To my amazement, I did not feel any fear this time. Definitely a respect for the almost 600 foot height, but despite more wind and cold, no trepidation. I even enjoyed leaning over the railing to get better shots and compositions.
I was also deeply moved by the juxtaposition of steep, rocky cliffs with the river below, mirroring my experience of the descent into the depths of the psyche in search of greater understanding, healing, and broader consciousness.
The gorge clearly inspires a sense of awe and wonder, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be at such a magnificent place.
I see what you mean about the better light for the photographs. Thank You for sharing – Awesome!
