First Off-Trail Adventure of the Year

Trails were drier than Wednesday, but still snow, ice, and mud in places. Thermal gear was a must at the start, with the icy winds, but by the time we scrambled up to the cliffs the sun had warmed things considerably.

Footing was quite dicey in places, due to loose pebbles and rocks, so extra care was needed. Being amongst the ancient trees, amazing rock formations, winter lichens, shrubs, cacti, and 150-mile vistas was inspiring and deeply connecting, as always.
